COK Investigation

You Can Help

Each year in the United States, more than 8 billion chickens are raised and killed in the horrific conditions documented during COK's investigation.

Their suffering is immense, but we can help them and make a real difference for these sensitive and intelligent—yet so abused—animals.

1. The best way to help end the abuse of broiler chickens is not to eat them.
Although we have no nutritional need for meat, our taste for their flesh necessarily causes the suffering and misery of billions of animals. For information on the health benefits of vegetarian eating, please click here.

2. Reduce or eliminate your consumption of all animal products, especially eggs.
Factory-farm cruelty is not unique to broiler chickens. In fact, egg-laying hens suffer even greater abuses than chickens raised for meat. Visit TryVeg.com to learn more and request your free Vegetarian Starter Guide.

3. Order a copy of 45 Days: The Life and Death of a Broiler Chicken.
This 12-minute COK documentary exposes the broiler industry—from hatching to packaging. Click here to order your copy.

4. Write your legislators.
Every session, U.S. legislators vote on issues that gravely impact farmed animals, most notably subsidies to factory farms and their feed suppliers, as well as which products the federal government will buy for the national School Lunch Program. Ask your representatives not only to end factory-farm subsidies, but also to include more vegetarian options in the School Lunch Program. Click here to find your legislators.

5. Support Compassion Over Killing.
